And away we go…
I have been away from writing here for a while now. Partly due to injury and partly due to life/work getting in the way of running. I did continue to run during my writing absence. In fact, I set two new PRs (10k – 48:23 and 5k 22:12). So why the return to writing? I am starting another round of marathon training and this is one of the ways that I remain focussed. Not sure who will read this (if anyone) but over the next 17 weeks or so I will chronicle my training and goals here.
I have chosen the Sugarloaf Marathon in Maine this time around. It is scheduled for May 16 this year. I debated between this one and going back to Vermont again. I decided on Maine simply because I haven’t been there before and figure that was as good a reason as any. I am still debating my goal time – that will come as my training intensity increases.
Here is this week’s training plan:
Monday Rest
Tuesday Speed work 10×440 + 5M easy running
Wednesday Recovery 4M
Thursday General Aerobic 8
Friday Rest
Saturday Recovery 4M
Sunday Medium-long run 12M
This should bring me in about 36 miles for the week.
